While the majority of workers at EXIST joined the company with a long standing love of photography or videography, Hugh is the exception. In fact, Hugh didn’t even have the desire to learn how to use a camera when he first joined. Hugh was a businessman with a knack for practicality, and was very open about not being the most creative person in the world. However, that all changed within a few months of being at EXIST.
The first time Hugh picked up a camera, it was for the betterment of the company, rather than himself. What he didn’t know was that he would fall in love with it. Hugh found that photography and videography allowed him to express himself like nothing else could. He found a creative side of himself he never knew existed before. He found joy in creating something that was unique to him. He found a new love.
While Hugh’s recentness to photography and videography could be viewed as a negative, it is actually a positive. Hugh is still growing as a photographer and videographer. He is willing to try new things; he isn’t set in his ways like seasoned photographers and videographers. He has something to prove to himself as well as his clients. There is so much room for growth, and he is willing to do whatever it takes to be great. This is a new found love for him, he is still in the honeymoon stage, which means that he is in love with every single second he spends creating. So while you might view his rookie status as a negative, I challenge you to view it as a positive because with Hugh, he is going to give you everything he’s got.
It’s stories like Hugh’s that makes this company so unique. He is our swiss army knife. There is no task too tall for him and he is willing to do whatever it takes to help the company succeed. As one of the original members of EXIST, I can honestly say that the company wouldn’t be where it is today without him.
